The Ups and Downs of Red Steel

I finally got my hands on a Red Steel game and had some freinds over to see if it's as bad as everyone says it is. To tell the truth, It really wasn't as bad as some of the reviews had said it was. I found the multiplayer mode to be alot more fun than the single player (except for the swords, that was pretty cool!) but the main problem with the whole thing, was the learning curve for the controls. They were so sensitive that after playing for five minutes my arm had serious cramps. The other problem was the amount of weapons you could carry at one time. You pretty much only have the weapon you picked up somewhere in the game, the crappy pistol you start out with, and some grenades (five maximum). Well enough said about the bad, let me tell you what I liked about the game.

The thing I probably enjoyed most about the game is the amount of grenade usage that's required to suceed in the multiplayer mode. It's makes me sad to see how much grenades are ignored in some games, and it was really cool to see a game that took advantage of this overlooked, beautiful weapon known as the grenade. The other thing I liked (and some of you "mature" gamers may not appreciate this) was that my little brother was able to watch me play it (taking into acount the volume was turned off) but for a first person shooter it was very mild in violence. and I appreciate that Nintendo had the guts to do that! So who cares if people said the game wasn't that good, I'd rather have my little bro there with me, than by my self waching someone get their guts splashed all over the place.

In conclusion, the game wasn't great, but it wasn't half as bad as people said it was. So I wouldn't recomend buying it, but if your gonna have some freinds over to play wii (especialy if they've got younger gamers) I'd say its a pretty good choice for a rental.

PONG!!!

Pong was invented by a company called Atari which started in 1991 when two co-workers, Noland Bushnell and Al Alcorn decided to start their own video game buisness. They called their buisness Syzygy. Although they thought it was a cool name no one else could pronounce it, so they had to come up with a new name and Atari was the first one that came to mind.
Earlyer that year an unknown person had invented a game called "Spacewars" and the two co-workers goal was to remake that game into a more arcade style game. The game they made was called "Computer Space." They thought it was a good idea at the time, but people really just were showing no interest in it. To make a long story short, the game sucked! So after doing a little research the two men found that people thought the game was to complicated and just not that fun to play. So Bushnell said "Lets make something ten times more simple," and with that, the two men came up with Pong! Pong was a huge success and and sold tons of copies! The two men couldn't believe a game so simple could become so popular! I guess you could call pong the godfather of all video games, some of the best gamers in the industry started out playing Pong, and if you have never played it.... shame on you! Get on the computer and play it for cheese sakes! Anyway that's it for pong, If you need to find out any more info (cause this is pretty much pong in a nutshell) you should try to google it. Well, I hope that helps (not that it was intended to help) until next time....

keep on gaming!

p.s.
if you have not played pong, that does not refer to you!
